Section 47
Penalties For Opening, Withholding Or Delaying Transport Or delivery Of Postal Articles
If a personnel of the post office, in contrary to his/her duty, in the course of dispatch, opens or causes to open or knowingly withholds or causes delays on delivery of the postal articles, such a person shall be liable for an imprisonment upto One year or a fine upto Five Hundred Rupees or the both. Provided that,
No provision of this Section shall be applicable in a case where any postal article is opened, withheld or delayed in transportation or delivery under the authority of this Act or on the written order of the Government of
Nepal or as per the directives of the competent court.
